In the wake of the George Zimmerman verdict, an image of Martin Luther King Jr. in a hoodie has been circulating on social media.
Zimmerman was charged with the second-degree murder of Trayvon Martin. He was found not guilty on Saturday.
The image, entitled ‘APRIL 4TH, 1968’ (which was the date of King’s assassination), was created by the artist Nikkolas Smith, and was tweeted by former Obama advisor Van Jones Saturday night, receiving over 1,300 retweets.
Smith’s image of MLK wearing a hoodie has taken the Internet by storm over the past few days.

On the night of his death, Trayvon Martin was wearing a hooded sweatshirt when he was shot by George Zimmerman. It has become a symbol of support for Martin and his family leading up to and throughout the trial.
Celebrities, athletes and politicians have donned hoodies in photos shared on social media, showing support for Martin.
