The Washington D.C native rocked Pennsylvania Avenue with several of his hits, including Chillin, The White Shoes, and LoveHate Thing, which the president personally requested.

When Wale got the request from the White House to be part of the historic State of the Union, he was surprised and humbled.

“The leader of the free world having a rapper in the White House. God bless him. Hip-hop forever,” Wale said.

Wale also revealed that his fifth studio album, Shine, will be released this year.
