Beyoncé’s ‘Lemonade’ is just what we needed

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

The music world got a much-needed ray of sunshine on Saturday night. Beyoncé dropped her new album on Tidal during the lengthy, mysterious and long-awaited ‘Lemonade’ premiere, which turned into a hour-long visual complement to her record.

The tracks are 12 vignettes: Indifference, Rejection, Anger, Intuition, Emptiness, Reduction, Accountability, Reformation, Pardon, Resurrection and Payoff. In a loose narrative, Bey walks us through the story of a girl dealing with a destructive relationship. Beyonce narrates the video with sweet, voiced phrase that is melodic against vibrant, strong imagery. We are still soaking in the images of Bey, her dancers, and the Deep South

Beyonce also solicited some of her celeb friends for cameos, including spouse Jay-Z, Ivy, Serena Williams, Amandla Stenberg and vocal help from The Weeknd.
