Production has started on Southside with You, the romantic comedy telling the story of Barack and Michelle Obama’s first date.
The first-look photo looks good to us.
Parker Sawyers plays a young Barack Obama, and Tika Sumpter plays a young Michelle as the two go on their date to the Art Institute of Chicago and then to a screening of Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing.” The date culminates in their first kiss as a couple outside an ice cream parlor.
Three years later they were married, and now, after 25 years together, they are parents to two teenage daughters, Malia and Sasha.
