Billy Paul dead at 81, according to his manager

Billy Paul, best known for his soulful, Grammy award-winning song “Me and Mrs. Jones,” died Sunday morning, according to a “NBC10” report.

Paul’s manager Beverly Gay told the station the soul singer was diagnosed with cancer and passed away at his home in Blackwood, New Jersey.

He was “hospitalized last week at Temple University Hospital,” according to the report.

Paul was 81 years old. He is survived by his wife, Blanche Williams, and their two children, according to the Associated Press.
