Donald Trump claims President Obama founded ISIS
During a campaign rally in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Wednesday, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump claimed that President Barack Obama founded ISIS.
“In fact, in many respects, you know they honor President Obama,” Trump said. “ISIS is honoring President Obama. He is the founder of ISIS. He is the founder of ISIS, OK? He’s the founder! He founded ISIS! And I would say the co-founder would be Crooked Hillary Clinton.”

During the event, Trump made a point to refer to the president as “Barack Hussein Obama,” which is his full legal name, and he repeated the claim that the president was the one to found ISIS, a charge that he has often leveled against Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee for the presidency.
Trump has long criticized President Obama for pulling troops out of Iraq, a move that many critics of the president say helped to create the instability that gave rise to the insurgent group in the Middle East.

Trump has also repeatedly claimed that the president himself is a Muslim. The GOP nominee was one of the first to publicly question whether President Obama was born in the United States.
In addition to his claims that the president founded ISIS, Trump called out the media, saying that they were “crooked as hell.”
“All I do is tell the truth,” Trump said. “I’m a truth teller.”
